Brinda Roy: Uber, the world’s largest on-demand ridesharing company, today announced the launch of uberHIRE in Dhaka. With uberHIRE, riders can book longer duration trips for day-long meetings, shopping or to simply explore and travel around the city. Uber’s launch of UberHIRE will give riders in Dhaka yet another alternative to private car ownership and enjoy the reliability, transparency and affordability that comes with the technology
Arpit Mundra, General Manager, Uber Dhaka said, “We are always thinking of innovative ways to enhance the experience for our riders and driver partners. This service aims to address the unique commuting needs of riders in the city, especially tourists, business travellers, senior citizens, and working professionals by letting them book an Uber for longer journeys while assuring them a comfortable and affordable travel experience”
He also said, UberHIRE is a hyper-local offering for the Dhaka market, and is great way for tourists to explore and see the beautiful city. Whether it’s a quick layover, a business trip or a day-long excursion to explore a city, UberHIRE has seen great response in other cities in which it operates.
He also said Uber’s mission is to bring reliable transportation to everywhere, for everyone. We started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get a ride at the touch of a button? Six years and more than billion trips later, we’ve started tackling an even greater challenge: reducing congestion and pollution in our cities by getting more people into fewer cars.
